About Parks and gardens

Whether you want to take the family and a picnic or simply a book and a bottle of juice there's no better place to enjoy peace and tranquillity than a beautifully planted park in Provence.

Explore the countryside in Provence

The French countryside in Provence is one of the prettiest in the world. The climate is ideal for nurturing the growth of beautiful flowers, wild herbs and luscious trees.

It's a lovely place to experience nature at its best, from the colourful butterflies and wildlife to the unmistakable scent of Provençal herbs that fills the air. So why not kick off your shoes and walk through the dew filled grass or lie on a blanket staring at the beautiful blue sky and feel the warmth of the sun on your face?

Parks and gardens worth a visit

The French are proud of their parks and gardens; they take good care of them and Provence has some of the best. The most treasured gardens are on a list called notable gardens of France.

There are nine gardens in the grounds of Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in the Alpes-Maritimes. They have numerous themes including the fountains and the Temple of Love, the Spanish garden and the stone garden.

The Jardin botanique alpin du Lautaret (Alpine botanical garden of Lautaret) is in Col du Lautaret. It's open during summertime and contains more than 2.100 species of alpine from across the globe.
