About : Beaches and lakes

Probably the prettiest region in France Provence is scenic and sunny. It has views that inspire great artists including Van Gogh and enough style and elegance to woo even the most discerning tourist. The beaches and lakes in Provence are as much a part of its charm as anything else.

Glitz and glam on the beach
Monaco has long been famed for its glitz and glamour and has attracted celebrities for many years who are drawn to the bright lights, 5 star hotels and motor racing. It is truly a playground for the rich and famous.

Larvatto is the only public beach in Monaco and although man-made, giving nature a helping-hand, it is a beautiful pebbly beach with crystal clear warm waters and great facilities close-by including shops, restaurants with great food, bars and even a children's playground.

Back to nature
For nature lovers, Provence has a selection of beautiful lakes nestled amongst its colourful landscape.

Many campsites are built around lakes and rivers and offer a choice of water sports including swimming, canoeing and sailing.

Mother Nature spent time perfecting Provence's picturesque scenery and there's no better place to appreciate it than deep in the countryside.

If you want a beach and lake side-by-side visit Prato Plage, in Pernes-les-Fontaines. Bask in the sun, take a dip in the lake or simply enjoy a delicious meal in the restaurant overlooking the turquoise water.

It's easy to appreciate nature in Provence whatever type of holiday you opt for.
