The work of Edouard and Isabelle Loubet, also owners of the Domaine de Capelongue in Bonnieux, the Bastide du Galinier benefits from their sense of welcome; the welcome basket serves for a first breakfast, supplemented with a few local treats, and bread and pastries every morning… These a just a few of the ingredients which make this place so magic, and which we’ve warned you will be difficult to leave. But after all, you’re right: why leave?

In a resolutely contemporary style, the “Fenière” suite marries designer furniture with exposed beams. The “Loft Rouge” features a mezzanine floor with bed, bathtub and hand basin above a living room with pivoting French doors opening onto the garden and the majestic plane tree that guards the entry.

the heart of the estate, the beautiful provencal farmhouse dating from the 18th and 19th centuries looks at you as if to say you’re already a member of the family. Entirely restored, the refined building unites elegance and contemporary comfort. The manor house, known as the “Vieille Bastide”, or the old farmhouse, features a large vaulted living room that opens on to the garden. A kitchen with harmonious proportions gives on to an independent apartment, while two bedrooms and a studio apartment occupy the first floor.

Careful, we should tell you: visiting the Galinier in Lourmarin is exposing yourself to an addiction it’s difficult to fight. You pop in for a quick stay, and you risk wanting to spend “a year in Provence”. Now that we’ve warned you, open the large iron gates on to the perfect garden, colored by a thousand flowers during the summer months. At the heart of three hectares of vegetation, hundred-year old trees flourish. A swimming pool and water games for the children complete this very natural summer vista.

But the charm operates in all seasons: at

Hotels and Spas

The “Galinier” exploits a more classic, typically provencal, set up: fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, living and dining rooms, plus three very comfortable bedrooms making for a luxurious and charming ensemble. And finally, the “Maison du Chef” occupies the old stables and features a very contemporary kitchen, extra comfortable bedrooms and a combined living/ dining area giving directly onto the garden and the pool.
