Here’s some background: PechaKucha is an independent and international platform set up by the architects Klein & Dytham which, since beginning in Tokyo in 2003, now represents over 400 cities throughout the world and returns to Marseille every three months. For each evening, about 10 artists are given a micro carte-blanche of six minutes 40 seconds, or 20 images x 20 seconds! In Japanese, PechaKucha means “chitchat,” the laughs that you overhear from afar, the sound of conversation. In Marseille, it’s become an enthusiastic gift of the gab.

On the program of this 17th edition: design, tattoos, fashion, photography, contemporary art, graphic design, sensuality, sound, and some Waaw! Indeed, the evening has been co-programmed with What An Amazing World, and talents from Switzerland,

After having sung this summer at our much-missed Cabane de Roucas, now we dance under the 13th-century vaults of the Daki Ling cultural space. Back to the sofas and soft cushions of our fall home base; the latest salon where we discuss ideas!

Belgium, Montpellier, Paris and Marseille have been invited. And how does it happen? Guests are received around videos by Art de Videospread. The delicious Pomponette of the Forest is in the kitchen and the bar is open all night to sustain you, with festivities beginning at 8.20pm.

Take a deep breath, we’re off for a non-stop PechaKucha with the residents: primitive artist Sophie Testa, Antoine Capet from the journal Entrisme, Maxime Paulet from Aïe Design, architect and graphic designer Laurence Ravoux, Jessica Venediger from Vieux Panier, R.A.F from Lucky Bastards, Lab.L for the group show “Sensualités”, multi-talented artist John Deneuve, fashion designer Olgajeanne, photographer Hélène Göhring, and we finish in music with the electro-pop duo Idéal Corpus!
