In 2007, to celebrate its 120th anniversary, the café commissioned the French interior designer Noé Duchaufour Lawrance to redevelop Senequier. To meddle with a myth can be complicated. But the designer injected a subtle modernity in to the place, while preserving its retro style, reinterpreting the house codes and reconciling the interior with the exterior. Senequier has never been so cool!

Since 1887, the patisserie Senequier has been an essential hotspot of the town of Saint-Tropez. For four generations, the owners have watched tourists and celebrities come and go. We decode this cult place.

The Iconic Senequier

Amateur yachtsman from the port of Saint-Tropez don’t need the lighthouse to get their bearings; to return to harbor safe and sound they simply need to head towards the red spot. But this red is not any old red, it’s Saint-Tropez vermilion, which today bears the name of the famous café Senequier, a must-visit for anyone wandering along the port of Saint-Trop! Originally a patisserie specialized in white nougat, Senequier became a trendy hangout in the 30s, when the owners installed the outdoor tables, providing their gourmet regulars and curious passersby with the perfect setting for a coffee break. The first sidewalk café on the Saint-Tropez port welcomed, on their now mythic red director’s chairs,
