From June 25 to November 14, the Calvet Museum in Avignon presents the unique exhibition, “Sumptuous Egypt,” which lifts the veil on some exceptional pieces.

“Sumptuous Egypt” emphasizes the richness of the collection created by Esprit Calvet (1728-1810), a doctor and erudite Avignon resident of the Enlightenment. The colorful collection has been continuously added to ever since, and, prior to being exhibited here, was subject to a vast restoration.
