Right from its first edition, APART became a key date for contemporary art, in dialogue with the landscape and the heritage of the Alpilles region . Both public and private spaces open to the public for free, encouraging a plurality of disciplines and privileging exchanges between artists and the public. For 6 weeks, each visitor can take advantage of many in situ installations and itineraries established in each region. International artists intervene in about 30 exceptional public and private spaces.

The international festival APART is an itinerant affair, for which an entire region dresses up in its most avant-garde gear.
APART Festival !
For this second edition, festival founder Leila Voight has teamed up with art historian and curator Christine Blanchet. “Together, we have put together an ambitious program in which the artists’ propositions make this festival a mirror of contemporary practice. We also wished to change the name of the festival to reflect its true vocation: a festival apart in the summer festival landscape and in the world of contemporary art. More than ever the Festival Alpilles-Provence’Art wants to be resolutely apart.”
