Always understated, Alex highlights the feminine form. Fine lace, buttons, ribbon, cotton and silk, her collections of soft transparencies, dotted muslins, and florals add a touch of softness and sexiness. Lurex thread is her signature; the curves sparkle with gold and silver. Alix de Moussac also offers a selection of underthings that are bolder, and perhaps a bit over-the-top: her opaque bras and camisoles dress up your sheer blouses, her lace adorns an indiscreet pair of pants, her straps around the neck work like jewelry. Her ruffled slips, froufrou knickers, and tulle crop-tops have become must-haves that she adapts each season. Liberty scarfs, beach dresses and bathing suits cause trouble whether worn inside or outside. Of her dreamy and naïve universe, Alix de Moussac never forgets that sexy works in fairyland.

Seen first in a neckline or a backless dress, Alix’s lingerie works like Proust’s madeleine, just a glimpse of it and we instantly realize we want more! Winner at the Who’s Next trade fair in 2010, she decides to make her lingerie a genuine fashion accessory. Distributed in France, Denmark, Japan, Belgium and Italy, she’s just opened her own online store. She also offers custom pieces for brides to be, to help make their magical day just that much more special.

After her apprenticeship at the Atelier Chardon-Savard in Paris and experience in prestigious houses including Vogue and Paco Rabanne, Alix de Moussac discovers the south in 2002 and starts working for the brand Batiste. She moves to Marseille, perfects her skills with a course in graphic design and illustration. Drawing constantly and with a taste for the lingerie set, she designs underwear to be seen in: negligees that beautify, chiffons that dress up, pleats that insinuate, and launches her eponymous label in 2007.

Alix, in her early 30s, welcomes us to her office. Around her are photos, drawings, frou-frous and bits of silk; sweetness emanates immediately from the place. “I’m inspired by the evanescent atmosphere of the Virgin Suicides, Nico’s soft, gravelly voice, Marianne Faithfull’s rock candor, Serge Gainsbourg’s texts softly sung by Jane Birkin,” she says in her sweet way. Alix de Moussac’s chic underwear collections revisit the genre, drawing on the sensuality of a Technicolor Belle de Jour poster, nudes from the Roaring Twenties, 50s pin-ups, of an “undress me, but not too quickly”…
