Home to probably the world's most famous film festival Cannes is one of the most famous places in Provence.
Cannes International Film Festival
In May for two weeks every year Cannes in Provence is an array of photographers, movie stars, glitz and glamour.
The festival, which has made Cannes one of the most popular and famous towns in Provence, attracts 200,000 people including aspiring and accomplished filmmakers, star-gazers, journalists and movie buffs.
Great restaurants and atmosphere all year round
When the cameras are gone and the red carpets are rolled up Cannes remains one of the world's most wonderful places. The palm lined streets, white beaches and perfect climate make it an ideal destination all year round.
Cannes' restaurants and bistros serve some of the finest French food. There's great night-life and fantastic hotels and spas and as it hosts the glitzy annual film festival you can be sure the accommodation and facilities here are world class.
There's volleyball and water sports on the beach and a wide variety of shops selling everything from Chanel No 5, which was created in Cannes, to French specialty cheeses.
If Cannes is good enough for movie stars then it's good enough for you; and to top it all off it's only a few hours on a plane from the UK!
