About : Thyme

Throughout history, the use of the aromatic herb, Thyme, has been well documented. It was used in ancient Egypt to embalm the dead and in ancient Greece for bathing and also burnt as incense in Greek temples.

A Healing Herb with Flavor

Thyme is still widely used in herbal remedies, to aid sleep and for relaxation purposes. Thyme has healing qualities and is used in oil form as an antiseptic for mouthwash and in tea to help soothe coughs and even bronchitis.

The plant is also tasty and is used all over the world to add flavour to food. It dries better than most herbs and lasts longer retaining its sweet aroma and flavour so is available year round.

Sweet Scented Thyme

Many spas in Provence and beyond use thyme as one of the essential ingredients in their massage and aromatherapy oils.

Thyme remains so widely used because it has so many healing powers and wonderful properties. This sweet scented plant is also combined with other invigorating ingredients to create wonderful perfumes. If it was good enough for the Ancient Egyptians and the Great Greeks then it is good enough for you!

Thyme in L'OCCITANE Products

L'OCCITANE has incorporated thyme into its Green Tea Eau de Toilette. In combination with bitter orange, jasmine and cedar, this light and refreshing scent is perfect for both men and women.
